27 Weeks... and a giveaway

I have decided that the only way to pull myself out of this funk I've been in this week, is to try to make life as normal as possible.  That's hard to do when you need to go grocery shopping and buy trim for the baby's nursery... and neither place is there anymore.  We will be doing our shopping in a nearby town for the foreseeable future I guess.

Anyway today I start my 27th week.  I called the doctor yesterday, and thank God their building is still operational.  I was nervous that my ultrasound on the 6th would have to be rescheduled.  I know that's pretty small annoyance comparatively, but I just can't wait anymore!!  I NEED to know if I'm shopping for pink or John Deere green!!

27 Week ailments:
Swelling... I bought a $10 ring at JCPenney since my wedding ring only fits for about an hour in the morning.  Also my feet have outgrown my cutesy shoes.  Luckily it's flip flop season. :)
Aches... My muscles have been hurting on and off for quite a while.  Apparently I need more potassium.  I think bananas help, so I just need to be better about eating them daily.  Last night I tried to sleep with an ache in my left arm.  I got up about midnight, took some tylenol and milk.  I then watched about 15 minutes of Craig Ferguson.  He put me to sleep until about 4 when the arm woke me up again.  I decided I should try sleeping in my bed again, and after quite a while finally fell asleep again.  However, now I'm hurting again and can't take any more tylenol.  I crave Advil liquigels!!
Growing...  I'm not really sure how to describe this one.  I'm pretty sure the baby is growing and my belly is not.  I feel like I can't move without getting a baby body part pushed into my rib or my spleen.  No more bending over to put Holly's leash on, she has learned to jump onto the couch for me.  No more sitting forward in a chair, I always feel the need to recline instead of continue the pressure on my sternum.  Hopefully the baby will pop outward more and make more room in there.

In other news... We have 2 days of regular school left, then we go straight into summer school.  No breaks for this weary teacher.  Luckily we have Monday off for Memorial Day.  We're going to FB's side of the family's reunion.  That should be fun.  Also FB is finally back from most of his world travels!  I'm so glad to have him home.  He's been to Manhattan, KS; St. Louis, MO; and Denver, CO.  That is too much traveling in my humble opinion!  Especially this last Denver trip.  It was this week right after all the Joplin mess.  Then the first night he was gone and we had tornado warnings again.  I spent an hour and a half in the basement alone... with Holly running in circles.  Normally I don't enjoy him being gone, but this time I was a blithering mess.  Thankfully he's home!!!

OK now onto the giveaway.  I'm almost to 200 posts!  That seems crazy to me, who knew I had that much to say??  I think I'm going to do a doggy theme.  I'll send the lucky winner a doggy gift basket, then in conjunction with that make a donation of needed items to Joplin humane society.  They are reuniting people with their lost pets right now.  If you've got any ideas for the giveaway... let me know.  I will be doing the official info and stuff on my 200th post, so stay tuned.

Seriously??

1.  Westboro "Baptist Church" is coming to Joplin Sunday to protest... Seriously!?!  First of all I don't understand how they can call themselves Baptists or a church.  Second what is there to protest when a tornado rips our town apart???  Apparently they plan on being here to protest President Obama and celebrate the deaths.  What losers!

2.  People are looting and stealing cars!  Seriously??  I hope that the cars were stolen to get someone to the hospital, that's the only rationale I can handle right now.  The fact that people would take advantage of these poor people makes me want to cry!  Actually most things make me cry lately.

For all the bad things there are a gazillion good heroic wonderful stories, which is the only thing that makes this ok.  For Westboro, there will be tons of people in town to counterprotest.  For the looters and stealing, there are so so so many groups helping and sending supplies.  Praise God for all those people, and please continue to pray for Joplin.  Plus all the others that have gone through this type of devestation in other areas.

Please Pray

As you may or may not know I live north of Joplin and work south of Joplin.  All of my family is just fine, we didn't have any damage at our house or any family.  However, Joplin is completely destroyed.  Please say prayers for all those that have lost loved ones and those that have lost everything.

Belated Mother's Day and Ducklings

Mother's day was a very busy day.  I woke up and FB rolled over, reached into his nightstand, pulled this out, and handed it to me.

I had no idea he'd bought it.  He was the first to wish me a Happy First Mother's Day.  We then got up and got ready for church.  We went to my brother's church, because my lil nephew was dedicated.  I was expecting a very personal thing for their family, instead it was every family with a baby that had been born since last Mother's Day.  They all lined up across the stage, it's a gigando church, so they filled the stage with families and babies.  It was interesting to see how different churches do things.  After church we went to Mom n Dad's to cook my mom a Mother's Day meal.

Ducklings
FB brought theses little cuties home on their second day of life.  They were still wet looking and ran around in a little herd.  They were very freaked out by me and Holly looking in on them.
This is day 3 of their little life.  I can't believe how much bigger and cuter they got overnight!  They're still running in a herd, but less afraid of me.  They realized my hand was the one bringing the water.  Which they loved to get in and splash everywhere.  I had to refill it every couple hours during the evening.  They went back to school with FB yesterday, so his kids could see them and take care of them for a while.  I'm looking forward to watching them grow more.  Plus they will eventually come back to our yard and be really good pest control. :)

Hope you're all having a great week.

Absent

Sorry for my recent lack in blogging.  Last week I just didn't have much to say.  This week there's plenty to say and no time to say it.  We're doing our end of year testing and our school's internet has been a little bit on the fritz.
Future posts (as soon as I have time)
*Mother's Day
*Ducklings
*Swelling and new clothes

I'll leave you with my 24 week shot.  Made my hubby take it so it wouldn't be in my awful bathroom.  Instead you get to see the clutter in the dining area/hallway.
Have a good one!
