Weekend Wrap up, and a few other odds and ends

Friday:  Farmboy had the week off anyway, so I took the day off to drive to Bison, Oklahoma.  That's close to Enid, for anyone who knows anything about Oklahoma.  It was a five hour drive.  Before we left we dropped the pup off with my best friend for the weekend and stopped at Walmart for snacks.  We spent the afternoon helping set up the reception and wedding sites.  That evening FB's sister (the bride) had asked us to pick up food for the rehearsal.  We show up at the Western Sizzlin' thinking it will be a couple boxes.  It wasn't!  There was enough food to feed a small nation!  We had to call FB's brother, who had his truck, for help.  They had 5 plastic tubs of food, and about that many boxes of rolls and paper goods.  We finally got everything there and helped set it up, and the evening went fine.  Since it was a Friday during Lent they served catfish, baked potatoes, hush puppies, salad, and rolls.  I did not eat catfish! bleck  I did enjoy the potato and roll, plus a little cole slaw.

Saturday:  We stayed in a nice hotel with free hot breakfast.  After that we went back up to the room to shower and get ready for the day.  We did a little shopping and met my parents when they got to town for lunch.  We ate at Chili's, which I really LOVED since we don't have one close to us.  I met the cake lady to have a very important cake cutting lesson, then we went to the church for pictures.  The wedding was beautiful, and LOOOOONG.  I married a Catholic boy, but this was the first full blown Catholic wedding mass for me.  It was interesting, and again beautiful.  The reception was fun too.  They had more come than they'd expected, so they pulled chairs out of the back room for extra seating.  We had briscuit, scalloped potatoes, and a chocolate fountain!  There was also wedding cake... which I expertly cut.  I didn't knock the whole thing over or anything. :)

Sunday:  We had breakfast with the family, then drove home.  At the Kansas/Oklahoma state line, they have these silhouettes.  For some reason it really cracked me up.  We spent FOREVER in the car!  Which I believe is why I was so sore and tired Monday.  But after spending the day in bed I felt better Tuesday.  After we dropped FB's mom off at her house we had to drive 45 more minutes to pick up the pup.  She apparently missed us.  This was her moping on the car ride home.
It was fun, but I'm glad to be home!  We haven't had internet for the past couple days, which is why I'm just now posting.  And there may be big changes at work for me.  I'm not excited, but I guess I should just be thankful to be employed.  I try really hard to keep reminding myself about that!  More to come when I actually know what's for sure.

Bleck... Sick and snow

Trying a post from my iPhone. We'll see how this goes.
Ok apparently can't post a pic of the snow on the ground :(
I think the wedding weekend just wore me out too much. Last night my body hurt so much it made me cry. I have turned into such a baby. Hubster took good care of me and reminded me to call in sick on his way out the door this morning. Now that I've slept most of the morning I think I'm feeling more human again. Now I think I'll do a lil laundry and watch Gilmore Girls. Have a good day I've got the wedding recap coming tomorrow.

Wishing my life away...

Wishing my day away... today is my Friday.  I'm taking tomorrow off to drive to sister-in-law's wedding.  Well technically Farmboy will be doin the five hours worth of driving.

Wishing my week away... I've been ready for my day off all week.  Tuesday I thought it was Wednesday most of the day.

Wishing the month away... I want it to be April 11th soooo bad!  We've got an ultrasound appointment and I'm so ready I can't hardly stand it!  That's really the one I'm wishing for.

I know I should live for today, enjoy each moment, and all that stuff.  However, right now I just really want it to be Aprill 11th!!

Spring has finally sprung!

We have twins!  Well to be technical my neice's ewe had twins, but aren't they precious.  I love the little black and white splotches.  Elvis the goat is not thrilled about his new cohabitants.  He butted one of them, but after being put back in his place by momma he's left them alone.  There is another expecting sheep, so we'll have lots of leaping lambs soon.
This picture doesn't do justice to the color of this wheat.  Wheat always makes me happy, because it greens up so much earlier than everything else.  It makes me think about spring even when there may be snow melting.  Anyway, I love seeing the wheat greening up when everything else is still dead.  Plus I love most wheat products so seeing a plentiful supply makes me happy too.  :)

The first sighting of these Easter delicacies also makes me know spring is finally here!  I LOVE these things.  So far I've limited myself to 2 of them.  Hoping hubby will get some more for me between now and Easter.  If he doesn't take the hint, I may just have to take matters into my own hands. :)

It also is finally warm enough to leave the coat at home!  Today it's supposed to get into the upper 70's, which makes me really happy.  It's not that I dislike winter, it just gets to be too long.  It drags on well past it's welcome.  I get so tired of my sweaters and coats.
So thank the Good Lord spring has sprung!

O'Birthday, doctor's visit, and baby update

Happy O'B-day Daddy!
Yea... his name is Patrick.
He's a twin and they look nothing alike.
Sorry for the cheesy picture.  I have better ones, but not at on this computer.
We will be have corned beef and cabbage to celebrate!
Also looking forward to seeing what my sister-in-law has dressed my nephew in.
Something adorable I'm sure.

In other news:
I went to the doctor yesterday.  We scheduled the ultrasound!  I'm so excited to have it marked on the calendar!  I cannot wait!  So everyone mark your calendars for April 11th.  :)  I'm just starting my 17th week.  BabyBump app on my iphone says the baby is the size of an onion.  I think they should find something more cute and cuddly to compare to Baby W.  At the appointment Baby was hiding, it took my doctor a couple minutes to find the heartbeat.  I was just starting to get really nervous when it came loud and clear as ever.  She called my baby perfect and ornery. :)  I think he's just shy like his momma and daddy.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Hope you get to pinch at least one person today.

New Haircut and a bump

Here's an old before picture.  I've basically had the same hair for a very long time now.  The side swoop bangs, with long layers.  I go shorter occasionally, even went without layers for awhile, but generally this is the look.  I went to my hairdresser (also a friend from high school) and told her I was bored.  It was probably more to do with the weather and tired of the winter that's dragging a little longer than welcome.  Anyway we decided to cut it shorter and go w/ full on bangs.
This is how it turned out, sorry it's not a closer view.  I'm not sure if I like it or not.  It's still growing on me.  I also went shopping and this is my first maternity outfit, Thank you Mommy!  I go to the Dr. tomorrow.  Nothing exciting until next month.  So here's the 16 week view.  Please ignore the bad bad bathroom decor!  We'll be redecorating eventually, have a nursery that is 1st priority.
Happy Monday, hope your view is less dreary than mine!

What to Wear... reversed

I love the WTW posts from my favorite Texan, Glam Newlywed.  So I decided to reverse it and ask you to give me your advice.  I have a wedding to go to in a couple weeks.  Farmboy's sister is getting married, so I have to look cute to cut the cake and all the tons of family pictures.  I think I have the shirt and skirt, so I need some accessories and shoes.
This is the closest shirt I could find.  Mine is more pink and cuter flowers w/ pearls along the neckline.  With that neckline I don't think I need a necklace, but could use some good earrings and maybe a bracelet.  This pic from google images.

This is the skirt.  I think it's cuter in person, but I also think it's a weird length.  It's brown with little pink flower buds.  This pic from Christopher & Banks.

I could also throw the entire outfit out the window and go w/ something else if it's pink and brown.  Also remember I want to look pregnant, not just fat. :)  OK, ladies that is your mission... should you choose to accept it.

Our super exciting weekend

We enjoyed some relaxation Saturday.  My aunt and uncle came down and brought a bunch of my cousin's maternity clothes.  They also wanted to see our humble abode.  My parents brought them over for a little while, the rest of the day Holly and I did lots of the above!  She's wearing her big sister shirt since the fam was coming over.  Farmboy was with a few of his students at some competition or something.  We had a fiasco with mice Saturday night, but I'll save you all the details.  Y'all really don't want to know!
Sunday we went to church for the first time in a looong time, then went to Walmart for a few groceries.  We had an hour or so before I met my mom for some shopping... that will be another post coming soon. :)  Holly decided she was too neglected or something and spent quite a bit of time under the TV stand.  Doesn't she look like a sad sack!?  She is so stinking spoiled, apparently we hadn't given her the attention she felt she deserved! Hate to break it to her but things will only go downhill from here.  She'll have to share us with the baby and it's going to rock her poor little world.

Anyway, hope you all had a great weekend.  Happy Monday

Happy Birthday Farmboy

This is FB with his niece before the wedding.  Love the picture, even though you can't see his face.  He's so crazy about his niece and nephew, which always made me love him a little more.  It's his birthday today, and I didn't even think to say happy birthday when we were getting ready this morning.  Tonight we're just hanging out at home, I may even cook... maybe... (I haven't cooked a single meal since I started getting pukey about 6 weeks ago)  One more reason to love that man!!  My parents are cooking him a big birthday dinner tomorrow, and of course my mom stole my best gift ideas.  However, hubby has an Amazon wishlist, so I'm saved by that.  Anyway, this is rambly.... so I'll just finish with
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FARMBOY!!

Baby Questions

Thanks for all the sweet comments.  Farmboy and I couldn't be more excited.  We've had lots and lots of questions since we've gone public with our news, so I thought I'd answer them here as well.

1.  Are you going to find out the gender?
Yes!!!  I know there are people who think it would be super exciting and heart warming to hear the doc announce, but I like to be prepared.  Like REALLY LIKE to be prepared.  I'd rather not go somewhere new until someone else has been there to tell me about it ( and what I should order).

2.  Do you want a boy or girl?
I always find this question funny, because you wouldn't try for a baby if you weren't going to be happy either way.  However, both of us have older brothers, so we want a big brother for our future babies.  We tried for a boy, and I kind of think it is a boy.  Again we'll be thrilled either way.

3.  What do you mean you tried for a boy?
My sister-in-law looked at us like we'd totally lost our marbles.  Several people think we're nuts, but we read a book and did what it said.  If you want more info on that google Dr. Shettles or email me.

4.  Do you have names picked out?
Yep,  we have 2 girl names and 2 boy names, and we've had some of them picked out since we were dating.  Yea, I know naming future children isn't typical date convo.  But when you live 6 hours away and talk every night everything comes up eventually.  If it's a boy we will use the grandfathers names, Jerome Patrick.  If it's a girl it'll be Daisy Ann.  Ann is my middle name and my mom's middle name.  We've had some people tell us our choices weren't good.... We don't care!  I know every mom out there would agree, and probably had at least one person not like the names they chose.

5.  Do you have plans for the nursery?
Yep, we will do John Deere green and yellow for Jerome.  And of course pink and brown for Daisy.  We won't be painting the room to match, because it makes it harder for resale.  We're hoping to be out of our house in the near future.  Even nearer future if farmboy gets a job that takes us a little farther from where we're currently located.  No we're not moving more than about an hour or so from where we're at.

OK  This got way longer than I had planned.  If I didn't answer a question on your mind, then ask.
