Holly and her bear

Holly loves her little bear.  She carries it around everywhere.  She would take it outside with her if we let her.  She obsessed with it.
This is the look you get if you try to touch her bear.  She will growl if she's feeling extra frisky.  That's also her favorite pillow, so she can sit in between us.
Bear is always right there, or under her paw.  It cracks me up.  If you hide it under the blanket, she'll dig like crazy!  She woke me up last night, and I assumed she wanted to go out.  When I opened the doggy gate to the living room, she ran straight for the bear.  Then she wouldn't drop it to go out, which of course made me a little cranky at 2 am!  She took it back to bed with her, and I really think that's all she woke me up for.

Guess I'd better get used to this.  I'll probably have the child with a favorite stuffed animal in another year or two.  You know that child, the one in Walmart dragging some poor thing around, across the dirty floor and through some mud puddles.  So I suppose this is good practice.

Two by Two...

We may need Noah to help us build another ark!  Yesterday was a CRAZY day!  I got to school in a downpour, and the downpour never stopped.  The day started off normal until about 9:30.  First we had to cancel our small groups to help the first grade teachers.  There was water flowing into their hallway, and they had to evacuate that hall.  Two of the classes came to our classroom, and the other 4 classes went to second grade rooms.  Everyone was doubled up 2 classes per room.  This process took a solid hour, moving everyone around and getting them settled.  Then since we couldn't have our classes, we got to help keep the students calm as they came through the lunch room.  Just as we finally get to sit down for our own lunch, they decide we need to just go ahead and call school off early.  So we had one hour to help teachers while they called all the parents to figure out how they'd go home at 1:00 instead of 3:00.  After all that running around, we had to get our rainboots, raincoats, and umbrellas ready.  We always load car riders into their cars at the end of the day, but with early out and all the craziness it was much busier than usual!  Needless to say, I went home VERY tired!  Plus the forecast has rain for the next few days!  I'm pretty sure we'll need an ark by the end of the week.

Hope y'all are having a dryer week!

Help please!

OK ladies,
I need your help.  I've finally gotten to the point where I can cook again.  I really appreciate FB doing ALL the cooking while I felt like puking all the time!  But now I'm ready to get back in the kitchen.  I would like to start freezing some meals to make our life easier when Baby comes.  I need your help, because I'm not exactly a chef.  However, I am a great recipe follower!  If you have a great recipe that can be frozen, please send it my way.  Also please let me know the best way to freeze it.  Like does it get frozen before or after baking?  What is the best thing to freeze it in?  I'm clueless when it comes to preparing things ahead of time!  I also plan on taking lots of pictures, and posting about my misadventures in cooking!

In other news:  I am almost 22 weeks preggo.  The baby weighs a little more than 15 ounces and about the size of a spaghetti squash.  Baby is developing taste buds and nerve endings.  I've had lots of muscle pain lately.  Hopefully drinking extra water and resting more will help.  Also having some reflux, not just after spicy food.  Rolaids are my best friends!

"Reveal" Party

My parents, my brother and his kids, FB's mother, and FB's brother's family all came to hear the exciting news.  A couple asked immediately, and we said they'd have to wait.  Which they would later realize meant wait a long time. haha  We had the party at my parents house, due to the teeny size of our living area.  My parents had done so much to get it all ready.  They had drinks, cheese and crackers, and cupcakes.  FB's mother brought a strawberry pie. We supplied the pizzas.

Anyway right before we had dinner my dad said a prayer, then I said well I guess I won't keep the cat in the bag any longer.  Then I told them we had a happy healthy shy baby.  It took a litle bit to get them to realize we were serious and wouldn't find out until June.

We had a great time, and the chocolate cupcakes were unbelievable!!  It was like a gourmet ho-ho.
I didn't try the strawberry cupcakes... because really when there's chocolate present nothing else matters!

Hope you all have a great weekend!  See ya Monday.

It's a...

Healthy shy baby!
Here baby is not showing us a face.  2 fists up, ready to rumble... or nap
His or her heel stayed planted, so no gender for 8 more weeks!
I'll post pics of our "reveal party" that didn't reveal anything.

Tomorrow's the big day... finally!

I'm off work tomorrow.. woohoo!  Really looking forward to sleeping in!  Our appointment isn't until 11:30, so we both had to take the whole day off.  I guess that will be nice to give us time to get ready for the reveal party.

Another teacher made a joke that with my luck he or she will have their legs crossed.  So, say a little prayer that the joke doesn't come true!!!  I just have to know!

Have a good day... stay tuned for updates Friday.

Feel like a kid who had their birthday postponed

I got a call from my doctor's office yesterday. They informed me the appointment I scheduled a month ago had to be rescheduled. Usually, I'd be easy going about that, but I'm preggo hormonal and want to see my baby! We also had about 20 family members planning on being at our party Monday night. Oh and then there's rescheduling time off. FB had to cancel his sub.
Anyway, we're rescheduled for Thursday, the party has been moved, sub coming Thurs, and me resigned to a longer wait. Now all that's left is not getting upset when everyone at school starts asking boy/girl 2 days early.

On a much brighter note, I'm headed into town for lunch and shopping w/ a bestie! Enjoy your weekend everyone.

A present

We had dinner at my parents, and they had a present for us!  Love presents!
willowtree.com

I collected the Willow Tree angels for a while before I knew FB.  When we got married, my parents got the Willow Tree couple dancing.  So this is our newest in our collection.  I almost cried when Mom had me open it.  OK, off to lunch then more meetings.... So glad it's FRIDAY!!!

Crazy Week!

I've been in professional development all week, and I've had about zero down time!  Learning a lot, but it's making me a lot more tired than usual. :)  Making my brain work too hard. Anyway, promise an update soon.  For sure next week with the BIG reveal!

Wedding Weekend pic

I read back through my post from yesterday, and I realized I'd forgotten this picture.  The only picture of the two of us.  Yikes.  I love how my man looks in a tux!  Then there's me... yikes!  I was cold so I have on an oversized sweatshirt.  Plus I'm not at all happy with the outfit I found for the wedding.  I should have just forgotten completely about trying to color coordinate with the wedding.  I thought it was supposed to be a light pink.  I would have had more fun picking something hot pink like FB's vest.  Anyway, not my best look, but no big deal.  I was definitely not the one everyone was looking at. :)
Then there's the expressions on our faces... Why did I decide to share this picture at all??  I don't know, I guess to give you a good laugh.
