Random engagement pic, just because I like it!
Luckily I had no reason to be! The class had five engaged couples and one lead couple who've been married 25 years. The couples were all pretty quiet, I think none of us really knew what to expect. The lead couple was very sweet and kept the ball rolling fairly well.
We talked about communication, which was really interesting. A lot of the couples talked about different fights and arguments they'd been in, and FB and I just kind of sat there. We honestly have never fought. We've had things that we've disagreed about and disappointments, but we figure it out before either of us gets upset enough to argue or fight. I think part of this is just our nature, we don't really argue with anyone for any reason. Also we're very thoughtful, thinking it over before we're ready to talk about anything.
Anyway, it was a great first session. I'm actually looking forward to the homework we have to do this weekend. The upcoming weeks' topics look a little more difficult, but I guess that'll be good for us. For all you married couples.... What type of marriage prep did y'all go through? Did you love it/hate it?

That's a great photo!
No marriage prep the first time. Married, in 1961. We were both protestant(Baptist). Had a talk with the pastor and that was it. That marriage lasted 20 years. I was 17, he was 19. We were mere children!
In 1982, after I was divorced almost 2 years, I met J. He too is a Catholic Farmboy...or was then. No farming these days. In the fall of 1983, we were married. Second time for both. I guess our marriage prep was the school of hard knocks, since it was the second time for each of us. We learned a lot of life lessons before meeting each other and have learned a lot of life lessons since. We were absolutely meant to be together, my Catholic Farmboy and I.
We had to do something like that, but it was just us and our pastor. I really enjoyed it and we got some good info! I wouldn't have been as open in our discussions if other couples were there!
Love that pic! Since I am not married yet I have no idea about marriage prep other than I think it is a good idea to do something like that before getting married! Glad you had a good expirence so far!
